Lytham Hall Park Primary School and Nursery

Discamus As Vivendum, Let’s Learn to Live

Welcome

A very warm welcome to Lytham Hall Park Primary School and Nursery. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and find out more about our wonderful school community.

At Lytham Hall Park Primary School and Nursery, children are truly at the heart of all we do. Every decision we make begins with one simple question: Is this the very best for our children? We are immensely proud to be a happy, caring and busy community primary school for children aged three to eleven, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

From June 2024, our school Nursery became a Governor-led provision. This is a privilege for us and reflects the trust placed in our school by the wider community. It allows us to strengthen even further the high-quality early education we provide, ensuring our youngest children receive the very best start to their school journey within our nurturing Hall Park family.

We are a two-form entry primary school, welcoming up to 60 children into each year group, with two classes of up to 30 pupils. We are proud of our strong reputation within the local community and the positive relationships we build with families. Visitors frequently comment on our calm, friendly and nurturing atmosphere; something we work hard to preserve and cherish.

Our classrooms and beautiful grounds are used regularly to enhance and enrich learning. Our on-site Forest School, led by a trained member of staff, provides rich outdoor experiences that foster resilience, curiosity and teamwork. Throughout our school, we recognise play as a powerful and essential way for children to learn. We embrace the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) approach at playtimes, ensuring our children benefit from high-quality, creative and engaging outdoor experiences. In our Early Years provision, we are particularly proud of our exceptional outdoor learning environment, where purposeful play underpins development and supports children in becoming confident, independent and enthusiastic learners.

We are fortunate to have a highly committed and talented staff team, with a wide range of specialisms that strengthen our provision. Within our team we have Lancashire Leading Foundation Stage Teachers, a Lancashire Moderator and a Lancashire Leading Teacher for Phonics. We support trainee teachers through BBL SCITT, facilitate NPQ programmes for aspiring leaders, and work in partnership with Abacus Teaching Hub. This culture of collaboration and professional development ensures that our teaching remains innovative, informed and of the highest quality for our children.

Our values-based ethos is central to our success. We are a caring school where every child and every family truly matter. We welcome innovation while also holding firmly to the traditional values that shape character: good manners, perseverance and a strong work ethic. These qualities help create the calm and purposeful environment in which children thrive.

There is much to be proud of at Hall Park, alongside a genuine appetite to continue to grow and improve. Our staff endeavour to instil in children a true love of learning. As noted in our January 2018 OFSTED report, “Pupils’ positive attitudes towards learning contribute effectively to the progress that they make. They are polite, courteous and confident.” We are proud of these words because they reflect the young people we strive to nurture.

We offer a curriculum that is creative, challenging and engaging, fully aligned with National Curriculum requirements and carefully tailored and adapted to meet individual needs. Inclusion lies at the heart of our approach; we are committed to ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed within our school community. We recognise that at times every child may need additional support, and we are dedicated to providing the right provision at the right time so that all pupils can thrive. Above all, we want our children to care for themselves and others, to develop enquiring minds and to discover the unique talents and strengths that make them special.

Our school motto, “Discamus As Vivendum – Let’s Learn to Live,” perfectly captures our vision. We want our children to grow into young people who see learning as an exciting, lifelong journey and who leave us equipped not only with knowledge, but with confidence, kindness and resilience.

If you are considering joining our Hall Park family, we would be delighted to welcome you.
