RE Agreed Syllabus
At Lytham Hall Park Primary School, we follow a Religious Education curriculum which is in line with the Lancashire Agreed Syllabus for RE 2021 produced by the Lancashire Standing Advisory Councils for Religious Education (SACRE).
At the heart of Lancashire's syllabus is the quest to understand what it is to be human. By learning about and from religion we can become more open minded, respectful and achieve greater self-awareness. The skills and attitudes developed though RE can thus make a significant contribution to promoting British Values and developing community cohesion in Lancashire.
At Lytham Hall Park Primary School we believe in providing an education, which is inclusive, diverse and equal to match the needs of the whole school community. We believe in celebrating the different nationalities, cultures and faith groups of our pupils, staff, governors and other community members and see the teaching of Religious Education as an important element of overall understanding of each other and the world at large.
Withdrawal - We aim to provide an open curriculum which can be taught to all pupils, by all staff. The law states that if a parent requests that a pupil should be wholly or partly excused from receiving any Religious Education at school, then the school must facilitate this. Requests for full or partial withdrawal from Religious Education should be made in writing to the Head Teacher.
