Lytham Hall Park Primary School

Discamus As Vivendum, Let’s Learn to Live

School Linking Project

Lytham Hall Park are proud to be part of the Lancashire School Linking Project, also known as the "All Together Now" program. This is a school-based initiative designed to connect classes from different schools across Lancashire, fostering a sense of togetherness and building confidence in interacting with others. It aims to help students from diverse backgrounds (social, ethnic, faith, or geographical) meet and learn together, promoting understanding, respect, and community connections.

This year, our Year 3 children have been taking part in a special 'School Linking' project with Frenchwood Primary School in Preston.

The aim of the Linking Network is to inspire and equip schools to help children build meaningful connections across all kinds of differences. Schools Linking brings together two carefully matched classes from different backgrounds in a thoughtfully planned, year-long programme. Through this, children develop a stronger sense of identity, grow in confidence when meeting new people, and feel more connected to their community and the wider world. It also helps build key life skills like empathy, respect, resilience, communication, and critical thinking.

Throughout the year, Year 3 have worked on joint projects with Frenchwood pupils to explore identity, celebrate differences, and build friendships. The children have spent time reflecting on questions such as: Who am I? Who are we? Where do we live? How can we all live well together?

After connecting through shared work and a visit to Burnley Youth Theatre earlier in the year, the time finally came to visit each other’s schools. We were delighted to welcome Frenchwood to Hall Park, and also enjoy a brilliant day at Frenchwood Primary! Both visits were filled with excitement, teamwork, and laughter — giving everyone a real chance to make new friends.

Year 3 certainly had two fantastic days, enjoying both learning and fun with their new friends from Frenchwood. When we asked the children to reflect on their experience, one message came through loud and clear: “Making new friends.”

We’re incredibly proud of how friendly, respectful, and enthusiastic our pupils have been throughout this journey.
