Discamus As Vivendum, Let’s Learn to Live

EYFS

The children in our Early Years Foundation Stage (you might also know this as Reception Class) are 4 to 5 years of age.

We are incredibly proud of our EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum.  We have planned our curriculum with high expectations and a clear understanding that children learn best through an engaging, playful learning environment.

Here is the long term overview of the learning in EYFS.   It is based around the daily experiences and interests of our children.  We also ensure that our EYFS children have Forest School and outdoor learning experiences every week.  Truly learning about the world and nature through everyday experiences of a high quality.

Did you know our EYFS teachers are Lancashire Leading Foundation Stage Teachers?

These are a group of teachers working in a variety of settings and contexts throughout the County have been selected to offer support to other Foundation Stage practitioners by acting as exemplars and sharing good practice.

We offer expertise in supporting children to be independent, resilient learners when accessing the continuous provision.  Our continuous provision is planned to the children's individual needs and next steps enabling all children to make progress and learn independently.

This year, 2022 - 2023, Mrs Ross, our EYFS leader, is also working with the Department for Education as an EYFS Expert guiding nursery colleagues in COVID recovery.

We learn so much from these roles and our children benefit everyday from our expert team who love EYFS and love providing the very best provision for our little Lytham Learners.
